Crews continued making enhancements to the leachate extraction system at the Bristol Quarry Landfill this week. Those enhancements included replacing old valves on the force main lines, which convey liquids, leachate, and condensate; and adding new valves and additional cleanouts, which allow periodic purging of the lines for sediment removal, to the force main lines to allow for better overall system maintenance. Routine maintenance was also conducted on the landfill gas system and well heads.
