Bristol City Council this week approved a $4 million project with Harnden Group, LLC, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to construct and install a new larger permanent gas flare system at the Quarry Landfill. The project will begin soon and it is expected to be completed late this year or early next year.
Meanwhile, at the Quarry Landfill this week, maintenance was conducted on the extraction wells and the Sidewall Odor Mitigation System (SOMS) well heads, with adjustments being made as needed. Crews also pulled and replaced a pump from the dual phase extraction well, and condensation buildup was removed from the lateral lines in the gas extraction system.
