At the Quarry Landfill, normal maintenance activities continued this week including pump change outs, cleanings, and adjustments to the SOMS and gas collection system. Crews also continue to add soil for settlement purposes.
The new, larger flare, which was installed and began operation last week, is operational and capturing the gas from the 221, 498, and 588 landfills. The transition to the new flare has been seamless and early results demonstrate it is performing as expected.
