Ongoing maintenance was conducted this week at the Quarry Landfill, including fine-tuning of the benzene treatment system.
At the older, adjacent landfill, trenching was conducted to connect the new gas header system to the existing landfill gas infrastructure. Additionally, the stormwater retention pond sides were compacted and seeded for stabilization.
The Virginia General Assembly is debating critical funding to help Bristol residents pay for the extensive landfill remediation efforts during its final weeks in Richmond. We greatly appreciate the support of our local lawmakers in this important effort.
