Crews at the Bristol Quarry Landfill removed and replaced one leachate extraction pump this week. They also cleaned and rebuilt reserve leachate pumps, and conducted routine maintenance on the landfill gas system and well heads.
The United States Department of Health and Human Services Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry is also holding a public meeting to discuss the findings from its Health Consultation for the Bristol Quarry Landfill on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Virginia High School auditorium.
