Colder weather at the Bristol Quarry Landfill this week has resulted in an uptick in odors emanating from the site. Crews replaced old valve stations and added cleanouts to the force main pipe in the leachate extraction system to enhance the flow of leachate and condensate through the system. Routine maintenance was also conducted on the landfill gas system, including cleaning and repairing well heads, and soil was added to address areas affected by settlement.
