This week crews continued to move and add soil to the western portions of the Bristol Quarry Landfill to address settlement.
Crews also continue to troubleshoot the faulty temperature probes in the southern region of the landfill. Efforts to remove sensors inside the probes have been unsuccessful and replacing the sensors is the most cost-effective solution. As a result, crews will continue to remove and replace the affected sensors, but at some point the solution may require drilling new temperature wells.
The section of piping that leads to the stormwater flow meter is being replaced due to clogging issues. Until the replacement is complete, stormwater is being redirected through the forced main. Once the project is finished, the stormwater flow meter will be retested to ensure it is functioning properly.
