Landfill Notifications and Information

Changing weather conditions have led to a recent uptick in odor complaints at the Bristol Quarry Landfill. Because of the increased odors this week, landfill staff prioritized reviewing and adjusting system operations, which included vacuum modification and adding soil where settlement has occurred, to address the impact on the local community.  

 The City also voluntarily purchased, and began installing, additional temperature sensors this week to expand the data collected from the Quarry Landfill. The new information will provide additional data points to enhance monitoring efforts at the landfill and help guide implementation of updated measures as the City continues to mitigate odor issues.
