Work this week at Bristol Quarry Landfill concentrated on adjusting systems to deal with colder temperatures, which can lead to an uptick in odors. Installation of the new compressor system is complete and received approval from the inspector and power company to begin operation. Once the warranty approval is granted, the new system will be placed into service.
Regular maintenance activities also continued at the landfill this week, including gas sampling; monitoring of the blower, flare and wellfield; and breaking down, cleaning, and repairing pumps.
