[ARCHIVED] Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds For Tiered Projects and Programs

On or after October 1 2024 the City of Bristol will submit a request to the Richmond Virginia HUD Field Office for the release of CDBG funds under Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development act of 1974, as amended, to undertake the following project:

Tier 1 Broad Review Project/Program Title: Emergency Home Repair Program

Purpose: The purpose of the Emergency Repair program is to assist existing low-to-moderate income homeowners with the repair and/or rehabilitation of owner-occupied homes.

Location: Within Bristol City, Virginia limits.

Project/Program Description: Activities include handicapped accessibility, weatherization activities, as well as emergency repairs that provide for certain elements of a housing unit being replaced due to emergency situations. These can include a leaking roof, installation or repair of an HVAC system, etc. All home repair projects that are not exempted will be tested for radon. Mitigation will be performed if required. Tier 2 site-specific reviews will be completed for those laws and authorities not addressed in the tier 1 broad review for each address under this program when addresses become known.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments on the ERR to the Room 108, Office of the Community Development Specialist, 300 Lee Street, Bristol VA 24201, ellen.tolton@bristolva.org, 276-645-7473. All comments received by October 1 2024 will be considered by the Community Development Specialist prior to authorizing submission of a request for release of funds.
