Subject: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Grand Opening

Beginning Thursday, November 14th at approximately 3:00 AM, until Sunday morning, November

17th, the City of Bristol, VA will implement traffic control management along Gate City Highway

due to the anticipated number of travelers for the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Left turns will be prohibited except those at the Osborne Street and Catherine Street intersections,

and U-turns will be prohibited throughout the entire corridor. During event dates the traffic signal

at the intersection of Gate City Highway and Midway Street will be temporarily disabled. Gate

City Highway traffic will have the right of way. Drivers on Midway Street and the Commercial

Driveway are required to STOP and YIELD to traffic on Gate City Highway.

During this time expect congestion in the Gate City Highway area. Those traveling I-81

Northbound are encouraged to take Exit 74A for the event, and those traveling I-81 Southbound

are encouraged to take Exit 1A. Local traffic is advised to seek alternate routes if available. Please

drive with caution and follow posted signage.
