[ARCHIVED] Finding of No Significant Impact and Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds

On or after November 19, 2024 the City of Bristol will authorize Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority to submit a request to the Richmond Virginia HUD Field Office Public and Indian Housing Program Center for the release of Housing Choice Voucher funds under Section 8(o) of the U.S. Housing Act of 1937, as amended, to undertake the following project:

GOODSON HILLS TOWNHOUSES

Project Description: Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority will submit a request to HUD Richmond PIH for the release of Housing Choice Voucher funds to undertake the following project:

Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority will begin new construction of the Goodson Hills project consistng of 23 three-bedroom residences located in three townhome clusters at 114, 121, and 127 Eason Place in the City of Bristol Virginia. The units are affordable housing and will replace the former Bonham Circle public housing. All 23 apartments are intended to be enhanced with Project-Based Vouchers. The property will be financed with non-HUD funds in the amount of approximately $12,757,679. The project will uƟlize approximately $6,601,920 of Housing Choice Voucher funds over the course of a 20-year contract.

The actvities proposed comprise a project for which a Finding of No Significant Impact on the environment was posted on October 30 2024. An Environmental Review Record (ERR) that documents the environmental determinations for this project is on file at Bristol City Hall, 300 Lee Street, Room 108, Bristol, VA 24201 and on the City website at www.bristolva.org and may be examined or copied weekdays 8 A.M to 4 P.M.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments on the ERR to the Room 108, Office of the Community Development Specialist, 300 Lee Street, Bristol VA 24201, ellen.tolton@bristolva.org, 276-645-7473. All comments received by November 19 2024 will be considered by the Community Development Specialist prior to authorizing submission of a request for release of funds.
